Privacy Policy
Last Updated: April 2026 (Login, Device Trial, and Subscription Update)
1. Introduction
BuildPrax ("we", "our", or "us") operates the BUILDPRAX MEASURE PRO application and website
(collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy informs you of our policies regarding the
collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service.
2. Data Collection
BUILDPRAX MEASURE PRO is designed with privacy in mind. We collect minimal personal information:
- Registration Information: When you download the app and create an account for trial or paid access, we collect your name,
email address, company name, phone number, and address (optional) to provide onboarding, account access, and service support.
- Account and Login Information: When you create an account or sign in, we collect your
account email address and authentication data required to securely log you in and manage your subscription.
We use encrypted transport (HTTPS), do not display your password to staff, and use this information only
for account access, license management, support, and service security.
- Email Verification and Session Data: We use email verification and session data to confirm account ownership,
activate trial access, maintain signed-in status (including "stay logged in" choices), and enforce period end and grace rules.
- Device and License Data: For desktop app sign-in and licensing controls, we process a device fingerprint
and device label provided by the application. This supports one-device paid licensing, device-bound trial controls, and fraud prevention.
- Payment Information: All subscription payments are processed securely through PayPal.
We do not store credit card information. PayPal handles all payment data according to their privacy
policy and PCI-DSS compliance standards.
- App Usage Data: The application stores your projects and measurements locally on
your device. This data is not transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly export or share it.
Device Identification and Licensing (Fingerprinting Data)
Buildprax Measure Pro uses a locally generated device identifier (hardware fingerprint) for licensing
and trial management purposes.
This identifier is generated from device characteristics and is used only for licensing and anti-abuse controls.
We do not use fingerprinting data for advertising, profiling, or analytics. Fingerprinting data is used only to:
- Manage trial periods
- Validate subscription licenses
- Prevent duplicate or unauthorized activations
- Apply one-device paid account controls and authorized device reassignment support
Fingerprinting and license data are handled with strict purpose limitation and are retained only as long as
needed for licensing, support, compliance, and fraud-prevention obligations.
No drawings, project data, or measurement information are transmitted to external servers.
The application does not collect personal data for advertising, profiling, or analytics purposes.
Project files, drawings, and measurements remain on the user's device and are not uploaded by Buildprax Measure Pro.
For questions regarding privacy or licensing, please contact:
[email protected]
3. Data Storage
All project data, measurements, and drawings are stored locally on your device. We do not have access
to your project files or measurement data unless you explicitly share them with us for support purposes.
Account, login, verification, subscription, and licensing records are stored in our backend systems to operate authentication,
trial/subscription access control, security checks, and customer support.
4. How Login and Access Control Works
Buildprax account access is controlled through account verification, secure sign-in, and license/trial checks.
We use this flow to protect customer accounts and enforce fair trial and subscription use.
- Account creation and verification: users create an account with email/password and verify email ownership.
- Desktop sign-in: the app sends login credentials and device identity to the backend over encrypted transport.
- Trial control: trial access is managed by backend policy, including device-based controls for desktop clients.
- Paid access: paid subscriptions are validated against subscription status and device assignment rules.
- Device mismatch protection: if a paid subscription is already assigned to another device, login may be blocked until reassignment is authorized by support.
- Password reset: reset links are emailed to account owners and are time-limited. Successful reset updates account credentials and may confirm email ownership.
- Session handling: access/refresh tokens and related session metadata are used to keep users signed in according to policy and security limits.
5. Offline and Cached Access Behavior
When the app is temporarily offline, it may rely on the last successfully verified entitlement snapshot
(for example, valid paid/grace access period) to avoid unnecessary disruption.
The app does not grant indefinite offline access and still enforces period end rules.
6. Data Usage
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain the Service
- Create and manage user accounts, email verification, and secure logins
- Send you welcome emails and product updates
- Process subscription payments through PayPal
- Calculate and apply subscription period validity, grace periods, renewals, and upgrades
- Apply trial, licensing, and authorized-device access controls
- Respond to support requests
- Improve our Service
7. Third-Party Services
Our Service uses the following third-party services that may collect information:
- PayPal: Processes all subscription payments. Please review PayPal's privacy policy
at paypal.com.
- Microsoft Store: For Windows users, the app is distributed through Microsoft Store.
Microsoft may collect usage data according to their privacy policy.
- Google Analytics: Our website uses Google Analytics to understand website traffic.
This data is anonymized and aggregated.
8. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information.
However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.
9. Data Retention
We retain account, session, subscription, verification, and licensing records for as long as needed to provide the Service,
enforce licensing/trial rules, prevent abuse, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and support customer requests.
Project content remains local to your device unless you explicitly share it.
10. Your Rights

information from children under 13.
